Sprinternship™ — Our Partnership With Break Through Tech
ABOUT SPRINTERNSHIP™
FIU’s Knight Foundation School of Computing & Information Sciences (KFSCIS) offers undergraduate computing students the opportunity to participate in Sprinternship™, a paid, immersive micro-internship program that typically lasts three weeks, with flexible scheduling available to meet employer needs. Now in its fifth year, the program continues to provide valuable hands-on experience and a technology-industry résumé credential that helps students secure longer-term internships.
As part of the program, students work on a technical Challenge Project aligned with the hosting organization’s business needs. Each Sprinternship™ is uniquely designed by the employer, creating a customized and meaningful experience for both students and organizations.
Sprinternship™ Participants
*Sprinternships™ are designed for all undergraduate computing students, regardless of class standing.
“We had an incredible experience with our Sprinternship™ project, and I loved working with the students. I highly recommend participation in the program, the students were so talented and eager to work, allowing us to build an entire product solution within the 3-week timeframe. Our business users are ecstatic about the work delivered which is going to save us a considerable amount of money and time.”

“UKG would like to thank Break Through Tech Miami for matching us with an amazing team of Sprinterns™ this year! We are proud to support a program working to achieve gender equity in tech. More than that, we are inspired by these five students. Their collaborative spirit, attentive listening and thoughtfulness brought a vibrance into the office. It was incredibly rewarding to see them grow and mature over the three weeks. They have bright futures ahead!”

“I am once again amazed by the power of this program and thrilled to have participated. The students exceeded my expectations by creating functional, deployable software solutions in just three weeks—something I initially thought was impossible. Their presentations were nothing short of impressive.
They self-organized, collaborated effectively and supported each other to complete their projects. Their technical skills were outstanding, but what truly blew us away was their enthusiasm and professional attitude throughout the engagement”
